The causes of the climate crisis, the crash and the war of the week (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Korea, Iran, etc.) are deeply interconnected. As outlaw capitalism implodes, and the many other crises converge, it is critical that we understand the connections. Greed is a mask for fear. Fear in disguise creates an irrational lust for power and a false sense of security. Power is most directly expressed as destruction and waste. "Security" is more mental state than physical condition. Self-deception and denial are among the most powerful psychological forces, but it's taboo to discuss their role in our dilemma. So we remain entangled in an obsolete, destructive economy based on war, waste and deception. These arguments propose a model for "re-thinking" the crisis, the denial, and the nature of a sustainable, civilized mindset. Obama represents the possibilities of conscious mindshift and true democracy. But we are still subject to the deadly force that gamers call "lag" or "latency" - inherent, systemic delays between information, critical decisions and action.
