This was one of my very favorite Bible stories, because, even at seven years, I could see the hypocrisy of my parents and their church. I also liked the idea Jesus could get angry and sort of violent. The lust for money has now corrupted more than a few big churches; it has disabled democracy, subverted the press, gutted education, put a price on human rights and is sucking the life out of the planet.

to ECONOMEDIAPOLITICS

We like stories - narratives -because we "identify" with the characters and their problems; we want to see how they fail or succeed.

All stories are driven by the same three forces that dominate our unconscious minds. The basest and the most powerful is the "fear- power nexus." That's why violence drives Spillane's sales ... and why fear sells wars. The next, less powerful force is the "love- desire nexus."

OK, that explains Sex and Violence, Love and Power. Do you wonder what the third force is?

to THE UNCONSCIOUS

Hitchcock's approach to story- telling says that the characters and the plot are less important than "what the audience knows and when they know it," particularly relative to what the characters - who we identify with - appear to know.

to INFORMATION

Nixon's lies were exposed when the question was asked, "What did the President know, and when did he know it?"

to TIME and DECISIONS

Outlaw Capitalism just got shot in the belly. It was gambling with The War and the Climate Crisis when Information tried to horn in. No one knows how it happened. Sheriff Politic was helpless to intervene. Bleeding badly, O.C. staggers out of the Global Casino and collapses in the street, corner of Main and Wall. Was it an accident? Was it avoidable? It doesn’t matter. Why didn’t we see it coming? Good question. Will it survive? Highly doubtful. Will President Obama send an ambulance or a coffin and a replacement? Really good question. And what happens next?
